Multi-language
Navision offers true multi-language capability throughout
the system. What is 'true' multi-language functionality?
True multi-language is the ability to support multiple
languages within the same organization. So U.S.-based
users can share the same database with their German-based
subsidiary. True multi-language is also the ability to
automatically print all documents in the vendor's or customer's
native language, regardless of the language.
Navision utilizes a dictionary-based approach to providing
multi-language support. This superior method means that
no language is hard-coded into the application. A user
simply chooses his/her preferred dictionary to have all
titles within the Navision system change to the desired
language set. Not only does this allow users that speak
different languages share the same computer, but it also
means that system administrators only have to manage one
application.
While over 30 dictionaries are currently supported by
Navision, companies can also create their own dictionary
if a particular language is not supported.
