E-commerce - Business to Business (B2B)
Navision's B2B e-commerce provides functionality
that is targeted to companies that buy and sell to other
companies. Companies can setup e-commerce accounts for all
of its external business partners.
Customers can log-in and review item availability
on a real-time basis. Credit limits and payment terms can
be defined for each customer which will be automatically
checked by the B2B e-commerce site at the time that an order
is placed. In addition, different permissions can be assigned
to each customer, allowing (or limitiing) it's ability to
access certain data, place orders, etc. Also, different
price schedules can be assigned to each customer.
Customers can review the status of open sales
orders, invoices, shipments, and payments. Event-based email
notification further enhances their customer service experience
by auto-generating personalized emails at various points
in the sales cycle, e.g. when an order ships or a new item
becomes available.
Vendor-relationships can also be managened
via Navision's B2B e-commerce site. Vendors can log-in to
check the receipt of invoices and payment status. Further,
vendors can update contact information via B2B website.
An optional reverse-auction allows companies
to efficiently collect competitive bids for purchases. A
user enters the items to be purchased in Navision and invites
vendors to bid on the items. An email notification of the
auction with a hyperlink is sent to all invited vendors.
When the vendor logs into the B2B website, it is able to
review the items and submit a bid. All bids are collected
and presented to the users. The winning-bid is automatically
converted into a purchase order.
All activity on the website is automatically
updated in Navision's inventory and financial management
system. Users are not required to re-enter any information.
Conversely, any changes to inventory, pricing, customer
accounts, or vendor accounts is automatically updated on
the website.
The Navision B2B e-commerce site is designed
to be maintained by non-programmers. All content can be
updated through the standard Navision interface and does
not require any special development tools. All changes are
automatically reflected on the B2B e-commerce website.
