Made-to-order manufacturing
With Navision's manufacturing system, made-to-order (MTO)
manufacturing companies can nimbly respond to their customers
demands and accurately predict when items will be delivered.
Starting in Navision's sales order window, users can create
custom production orders. Standard BOMs and routings can
be used as templates to speed data entry. With a click
of a button, users release the order into production and
give the customer an accurate delivery date.
Delivery dates are determined by taking into account
shop calendars, work shifts, capacities of machine and
work centers, material requirements, and other production
orders.
Once in production, orders are processed according to
their individual characteristics, including order-specific
BOMs and routings. Throughout the process, Navision provides
robust manufacturing functionality. All materials and
costs are tracked with the production order for profitability
analysis. Pick tickets for stocked materials and purchase
orders for non-stocked materials are automatically generated.
