Navision's manufacturing system addresses the needs of made-to-stock (MTS) manufacturers. Beginning with its demand forecasting tools, companies can develop an accurate master production schedule (MPS) to produce precisely what is needed to fulfill customers' needs.

Changes to the MPS automatically trigger Navision's intelligent material resource planning (MRP) system, which calculates changes in material requirements and generates action messages. Users can instantly view the results of MRP. Requirements for purchased materials are automatically communicated to Navision Purchasing.

Integration into Navision's warehouse management functionality generates pick tickets to pull raw materials and move them into work-in-progress (WIP). As materials are consumed and finished items are produced, inventories are automatically updated. True costing of finished goods is tracked and recorded in Navision's general ledger.
