Navision was built from the ground up as a true client-server application, complete with two-phase commit. It supports a choice of database engines and is ODBC compliant.

The application is fully customizable, including the ability to add/modify tables, windows, reports, and business logic. Navision can communicate with other applications via OCX controls.
