Bin and pallet locations
Navision's warehouse management functionality
offers users the ability to manage the exact location(s)
of goods in the warehouse. Users can define bin and pallet
locations to match the physical layout of their warehouse(s).
If a company has multiple warehouses, each location can
have a different bin and pallet configuration. Within a
warehouse, different zones can be configured reflect different
storage conditions. For example, special staging areas can
be created for efficient processing of high-turnover items.
Item inventories are maintained for each bin
location. By utilizing rules associated with each bin, users
can control the quantity of items stored in each of bin.
In addition, Navision's pick and put-away processes utilize
the bin rules to determine the optimal quantity to be stored
in each bin.
